Taylor Swift released the music video for her new song “look what you made me do”, and it set a new YouTube record. It got 19 million views in just the first 24 hours. The previous record of getting the most views upon its release was set by the lyric video of the Chainsmokers song “Something Just Like This” featuring Coldplay. It got 9 million views upon its release, however, views of Taylor Swift’s new lyric video were more than double. It is also the best 24-hour figure for Taylor Swift. In 2015 the official video of “bad blood” got 17 million views on the first day of its release. The video currently has totaled more than 1.1 billion views. As of now Swift’s lyric video of “look what you made me do” has got more than 42 million views and has got more than 1 million likes.
OnAugustt 27, Sunday taylor swift released the official music video of “look what you made me do”. She premiered the video for her new song on Sunday night at MTV’s video music awards. However, the song isn’t just what you think and the lyric aren’t that simple. The singer who have been low-profile for a long time posted an Instagram caption over the weekend saying “There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation.” It was clearly a tease that the name of her new album is going to “reputation” to be released on November 10. Coming to the music video, it starts with a tombstone that reads”Here lies Taylor Swift’s reputation” before a zombie version of Swift climbs out of the grave. Now you might be wondering how did her reputation die, well fans have got some theories. Most of the fans think that the cause of the death may because of all the bad publicity she has been getting lately from the press or because of her break up with producer and DJ Calvin Harris and most importantly her fued with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West. Taylor and Kanye were in the news when Kanye released a song in which he called swift a b****h. The matter further exploded when Taylor confessed that Kanye didn’t take her permission for calling her with THAT word. Some fans also think that Taylor fired shots on Kanye in her new song with the lyrics “I don’t like your little games, don’t like your tilted stage/The role you made me play of the fool, no, I don’t like you.” The rapper Kanye last concert tour featured a floating and titiled stage. Fans think that she also took a dig at Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian as during the end of her video Swift said “Getting receipts, gonna edit this later” as she pointed her camera phone and mimicked the act of recording a video. Again you guys might be wondering what is the meaning of receipts. It is an internet catchphrase used to call for proof and evidence. During the fued between Taylor Swift and Kanye West, Kanye wife kim Kardashian posted a video of a conversation between Kanye and Swift, stating that Swift knew about the song lyric she later complained about. However, Swift responded to this by saying that there was no where in the video where she approved of being called a you know THAT word. Further in the video there is a place where fans thinks that Taylor Swift dressed up to look like Katy Perry. The two have had a long-standing fued and interestingly enough Katy Perry was the host of the VMA’s this year when Swift premiered her new song. There was also a scene in the video where Swift stood up on a mountain dressed in a one piece which read ‘REP’ . The mountain was made up of the older version of herself from different music video and red carpet appearances. The old Swift’s fight to climb to the top before they are all seen falling away. And if it wasn’t enough we saw the new Swift saying into the phone “I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, cause she’s dead.” The video end by showing a number of Taylor Swift’s dressed in her old appearance that she made in her old video. She uses them to parody some of the harsh comments that have been made on her ovet the years. A nerdy Swift from the “You Belong With Me” video was scolded by zombie Swift saying, “Stop making that surprise face, it’s so annoying.”
“You can’t possibly be that surprised all the time,” said ballerina Swift, who appeared in the “Shake It Off” music video.
The just starting out, acoustic guitar version of Swift from her teen years was told to “Stop acting like you’re so nice, you are so fake” by circus ringleader Swift from the 2012 MTV European Music Awards.
When baby Swift starts to cry, a nearby Swift says “There she goes playing the victim, again.”
The video ends with the version of Swift who was famously interrupted by West during her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
Wearing that same off the shoulder gown and clutching her VMA award, Swift utters her now infamous line “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative” which was part of her official statement to the whole West-Kardashian kerfuffle, to which the rest of the Swifts respond with a resounding “Shut up!”. It was quite creative to use all the different taylor swifts and making fun of those comments.
Most of her fans seem to love her new music video and her new song and not only this but the music is also making into the headlines because of shots she has taken on Kanye, Kim and Katy in her music video.
