The historic match between the undefeated five division champion Floyd Mayweather and the boxing rookie Conor McGregor took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada August 26, 2017. For the first three rounds it seemed as Conor was going to end this match early due to the blows and punches that he was throwing on Mayweather.
In the first round, Mayweather gets a few body blows but he absorbs them. Floyd Mayweather jabs to the body but Conor dodges it and lands an uppercut. The score at the end of the first round was Mayweather 9-10 McGregor.
In second round Conor continues his assault.He aims some punches at the back of Floyd’s head, for which the refree warns him. Floyd was letting Conor give him the blows of punches and jabs and throws very few punches for thr first three rounds.
In the third, referee warns Conor again for punching Floyd at the back of his head. At the end of the third round, most of the people thought that Conor was the winner of the first three rounds. Floyd showed some of his moves in the third round but they were not enough for him to win this round. Round four starts and it is from where the entire story starts to change. Floyd starts to come more forwards and it seemed as if Conor was getting tired and it seemed that as if he was pushing his punches. Floyd starts to find his groove in the fifth round. In the sixth round, Floyd lands a number of blows to the body and starts to put pressure on his opponent. In the seventh round, he puts some serious pressure on Conor by getting him on the ropes and landing a hard left hook. In the eighth round, the Irishman Conor gets a few blows from Floyd as he ends the round with an upper cut. The round nine is where Floyd gets in his beast mode. McGregor gets him on the ropes but Mayweather battered McGregor with a hard right. The Irishman survives the ninth round but it was clear that Conor was getting extremely tired as his legs started to wobble. And then starts the round 10, where it all ends. Floyd finishes Mayweather, with the refree stepping in to stop the fight. Floyd wins the fight in the 10th round by a TKO.
Floyd Mayweather announced his retirement with a record of 50 wins in 50 professional bouts with 27 by stoppage.
