Las Vegas was stormed by a shooter who started openly firing from the 32nd floor on the crowd enjoying the concert on the basement. According to official sources, approximately 50 people have died while more than 400 people are severely injured with wounds resulting from bullets and the stampede that followed.
This attack has been considered as one of the deadliest events of the mass shooting. Some analysts have also termed this attack as the worst mass killing in American history due to the impact and atrocities.

Paddock has been identified as the shooter
The initial investigation has identified the shooter by the name of Stephen Craig Paddock aged 64 from Nevada. The shooter opened the fire of his bullets on armless people who were enjoying the concert and other festivities at Mandalay Bay Resort and the Casino down. At the time of this incident, there were almost 22000 people present in the hotel. As the repetitive shots were heard, people started to panic and this resulted in a chaotic environment where many people fell. The people present during the catastrophic event initially thought the sounds were of fireworks but it was only after the fall of some people in the crowd that led to the realization that someone was shooting from the top.
When the room on 32nd-floor was investigated, around 10 weapons have found which are capable of causing a lot of destruction. Paddock has been shot by the Las Vegas police force. The records of the hotel showed that Paddock checked in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino last Wednesday. The housekeeping staff when probed confessed that there was suspicion regarding Paddock due to his absurd behavior and complete denial to the staff for entering his room for cleaning services.
The shooting has not been termed as an act of terrorism because no linkages have been found with external organizations or terrorist groups. The survivors have stated that the weapon could not be seen due to dim lighting but the shots were recognized as bullets from a machine gun.
The shooting continued for 10 minutes after which Paddock was taken down by the local police forces. The singer on the stage, Jake Owen, was just some feet away from shooting range and quickly sought refuge in the vanity van.
Paddock’s roommate, Marilou Danley, has been interrogated by Police and no traces of her involvement in the massacre has been found. Marilou did state that Paddock was a gambler who used to drink, gamble and lose a lot of money.
