The Paladin encourages members of the university community to address current issues and events through letters to the editor and guest columns. In order to be considered for publication, all submissions must bear the author’s name, telephone number, mailing address, class and major, if applicable. Submissions may be sent by campus/US mail or e-mail. Letters should not exceed 250 words in length and guest columns should be less than 500 words in length. All material should be typewritten. Those submitting guest columns must do so with the prior approval of the opinions editor.
The Paladin office is located in room 251 in the upper level of the University Center. The deadline for submissions is Monday at 5:00 p.m. for the following Friday’s edition.
All submissions become the property of The Paladin newspaper. The Paladin reserves the right to edit, without prior notice, all copy for clarity, grammatical or typographical errors and also to shorten letters to meet layout requirements.
The Paladin is printed by The Greenville News each Friday during the academic year, except during examinations, holiday periods and summer.
The staff editorial is the opinion of The Paladin as determined by a majority of the Editorial Board, which consists of the Editor-in-Chief, News editor and Opinions editor. The content of The Paladin does not necessarily reflect the opinions of Furman University, its administration or staff. Columns and letters reflect only the personal opinions of their authors.
Annual subscriptions are available at a cost of $35. Make checks payable to Furman University and mail them to The Paladin. Individual copies are available for no charge on campus, one per person.
